Movie: Somewhere Between
I highly recommend the excellent documentary Somewhere Between which brings into current day the experience of young women adopted from China and now living in the United States. The Resources on the website are also excellent.
From Somewherebetweenmovie.com:
“This film follows the lives of four teenaged girls adopted from China and now living in the United States. In profiling Chinese adoptees in contemporary America, Linda Goldstein Knowlton has created a deeply moving documentary illustrating that even the most specific of experiences can be universally relatable.”
“It’s not just that the participants turn out to be poised, articulate and candid. Their position between cultures — some of them are the only Chinese person in the cities they live in — has made them more than usually thoughtful and self-aware. … You’d have to be a stone not to be moved.”
